This is another year they emphasize on renovating things and making the paradox on the fashion runway. Even though it is not new to find inspiration and new meanings by bringing contrary voices together, this is how they see the future.
If I could foresee the trend from graduate shows, I would say the fashion future wouldn’t be fresh but bright. The opening collection by Luke Brooks, winner of the L’Oréal Professionnel Creative Award, brought out models wearing “paints” – the new scrap object that piles up paints to make fabric, joined little pieces of leftover yarn to a baggy-bag scarf and used paper marché for accessories.
You might think why don’t they create things we have never seen; those that can blow fashion world and take your breath away. However, fashion doesn’t mean to be new all the time. As long as it reflects what we are and what we are going to be, I don’t mind if it’s going to be hundreds of head-covering looks in the coming runways. Things will be changed when there’re reasons to be.
